The New Members’ Class is designed to equip prospective members of Blantyre Baptist Church with the necessary information before making the commitment to become members. This is done through one hour teachings that are conducted every Sunday morning.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
- Faithfully expound God's word to expose the person to basic truths of Christianity
- Highlight principles that Baptists subscribe to
- Give a general understanding and tour of Blantyre Baptist Church for the person to appreciate where we have come from as a church, where we are and also where we are going.
In this class, we teach the following subjects;
- Meaning of Church Membership
- Brief History of Baptists and Blantyre Baptist Church
- What We Believe
- Salvation
- Spiritual Growth
- The Church
- Stewardship
- The Vision
- Spiritual Gifts
- Members Involvement
The course takes four months or 16 weeks. Church Membership manuals are purchased from the church office for prospective members to use while undergoing the course. In a broad sense, the manual is a bird’s eye view or overview of Christianity and Baptists in general, and in another sense a tour of Blantyre Baptist Church. We believe this is a journey that is beneficial not just for absorbing information but of real spiritual growth. In order for prospective members to follow the lessons well, we require them to have a Bible, a notebook and a pen always whenever they come to class.
Chichewa Classes are held on Sundays from 7:00 AM while English Classes start at 8:30 AM.
The resident Pastor is always available for any questions people may have and clarification they may need.
