Philippians 4 verse 6, James 5 verse 16, Ephesians 6 verse 18
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God." "Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous person is powerful and effective." "And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord's people."Prayer is a front-line ministry where spiritual battles are fought and won. The Prayer Ministry at Blantyre Baptist Church serves to exhort church members to a continuous attitude of prayer as individuals and as a corporate body.
Why Do We Pray?
- Because God commanded us to pray.
- Because Jesus modeled prayer.
- Because Scripture emphasizes the importance of prayer.
- Because through prayer, we receive strength to face life challenges and endure trials
- Because prayer shields us from falling into temptation.
- Because prayer brings healing to communities, cities and nations.
- Because prayer brings physical, spiritual, emotional, psychological and relational healing to people.
- Because prayer connects us to God, the source of infinite provision and power.
