MINISTRIES

The Pastoral ministry at Blantyre Baptist Church exists to meet pastoral needs of the church foremost, church planting and the administrative functions of the church. The pastoral needs of the church include spiritual oversight of the entire ministry, shepherding, preaching, and teaching, Counselling, chaplaincy and other related roles. Church Planting is the task of establishing new Churches where there is no Baptist or evangelical witness. Administrative functions cover programs, policies and procedure.

The Pastoral Ministry comprises of the Resident Pastor, Rev Vincent Chirwa, who is also the Lead Pastor, the Assistant Pastor, Pastor Kenneth Mpemba, the School Chaplain, Pastor Synod Mweziwina, the Prison Chaplain, Rev Gresham Dairi and the Church Planter, Pastor Umodzi Mizere.

The Resident Pastor

He is responsible for providing spiritual direction, visioning, shepherding, teaching, preaching Counselling and supervision of the entire ministry of the church. Additionally he is the Chief Executive Officer of Blantyre Baptist Holdings Limited. He is assisted by Pastor Kenneth Mpemba and stands in for him in all the areas except the last role.

Assistant Pastor

He assists the resident pastor in providing spiritual direction, visioning, shepherding, teaching, preaching Counselling and supervision of the entire ministry of the church.

Pastor Synod Mweziwina

He responsible for the spirituality of students and Teachers in our education ministry otherwise known as School Ministry. His responsibilities include scheduling and conducting devotions for staff and students on our two campuses -Chichiri and Nancholi. He is also responsible for Counselling for staff and students.

Rev Gresham Dairi

He responsible for the Prison Ministry. He conducts worship services, evangelism, discipleship, baptisms, Counselling and follow up of ex-convicts to resettle back in their home village and find something worthwhile to do.

Pastor Umodzi Mizere

He responsible for church planting. His work is pioneering new work in areas identified by the Resident Pastor in collaboration with the Evangelism Ministry. Those that come to the saving knowledge of Christ are followed up and if they do not belong to a church, they are encouraged to form a group which is discipled. A group of discipled believers can form a church. Once a church is established, he is assigned to another place and through the Mother church, the new church is assigned a pastor.
