Welcome to my first blog. It's a privilege to use this platform to communicate to the church and the Body of Christ issues that are current and of interest and especially those that need answers.
The first thing I would like to share is actually a warning of the danger of deception of counterfeit prophets. From time to time the Reserve Bank of Malawi publishes images of Malawian banknotes so that they are familiar with features on the genuine notes to avoid accepting counterfeit notes. Counterfeit notes look almost the same as genuine notes. It is important to realise that there are people who are not from God but pose to be from God and more seriously there are also people who make outlandish claims.
Recently, something was posted on WhatsApp that revealed how it is possible for people to be so deceived that they can worship a fellow human being whom they see as divine. A man by the name of Overton Levison Makuta of Headstone Prophetic Ministry International is parading himself as Lord Overton Christ. He is also addressed: The Mighty Angel It is proclaimed of him, “You are awesome. Born as an ordinary man, yet King of kings.”; “You are God.”
A few years ago there rose another man who proclaimed himself to be Jesus Matiki. What was shocking is that he claimed to be Jesus the one who was and the one who is to come back. He had a number of followers including women who were "ministering" to him. I remember asking one of the ladies if she truly believed that this man was the Christ. The answer shockingly was in the affirmative. He died a few years later and that was the end of him. I would have thought that people today would be more wiser and not follow a human being who claims to be God. Deception will claim victims of all who are ignorant, naive and gullible.
Although there is little known about him, the little I know just from the Video clips is enough to dismiss him outrightly and completely as a liar and a fraud. The unfortunate thing in Christianity is this thing we call gullibility. To be gullible means to easily believe without asking and testing. People who follow him have believed that Bushiri walked on air. Who saw him walk on air? The fact that someone is purportedly performing wonders should not easily earn our trust of him. We must always test. The test is fruit. Jesus said By their fruit you will know them (Matthew 7:20).
There is only one name of one Alpha and Omega. There is only one Everlasting Father. who was full of grace and truth who came from the Father. There is only one saviour. There is only one who was without sin who died for the sins of the whole world. There is only one who rose from the dead and ascended to the Father. There is only one name who will return bodily and visibly to judge all people. There is only one name who deserves worship. There is only one King of kings and Lord of lords. His name is Jesus.
